NYSERDA Wind Turbine Rebates

Wind turbines rebates are based on a formula that includes:
  • The wind turbines base kwh production curve at 11m/s.
  • The towers based height of 100 or 80 feet
  • The tower adjustment factor for installed towers below the base tower height.
  • Higher incentive levels are available for farms, not-for-profits,
    municipalities or counties, and schools and college
  • Multiplier for Second or Third Wind Generator at one Site is multiplied by factors of .4 (40 percent)
Incentive level = (Base Incentive Level + (Tower Height Adjustment x (Tower Height - Base Tower Height))) x Multiplication Factor
Incentive Payment    
  • NYSERDA will pay 65 % of the incentive after the components are delivered on site.
  • The remaining 35 % will be paid upon completion of the project
Qualified Wind Generators
  • Only Qualified W ind Generators may be installed under this program
Wind Towers  
Wind generators m ust be m ounted on new towers that are designed to accommodate wind generators similar to the wind generator proposed. Wind generators may not be mounted on any pre-existing structure.
 
NYSERDA Requirements for Wind Turbine Locations
  • Minimum lot size of 1 acre
  • Minimum distances between the tower base and human-occupied buildings of 300ft for turbines under 20KW** Waivers can be given upon request**
  • Minimum setback of the tower height plus the wind turbine from any power lines or property line
  • Minimum setback of 15 feet from any structures.
  • The minimum annual average wind speed at hub height is 10 miles per hour considering losses due to obstacles and other factors.
